Biological Science Technician (Wildlife)

Assist in conducting wildlife (shorebirds, water birds, sea turtles and marine mammals) censuses and surveys. Assists with vegetation management. Assemble basic information on wildlife populations such as habitat use, sex, age structure, seasonal movement, and harvest characteristics. Uses standard statistical methods and procedures in performing routine and recurring tests of the field data collected, and applies these findings in assisting with the presentation of reports relating to field activities. Enters and retrieves data from Geographic Information System (GIS) or other information management systems.
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must have been related to the work of the position for which application is made. The specialized experience required for some positions in this series is normally work performed in a controlled environment. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
activities related to controlling, removing, euthanizing, and harvesting, conducting research studies, working with plants or animals to analyze behavior and breeding patterns, etc . You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least six semester hours must have been directly related to the position being filled. . You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
